يهدف إلى بيان أثر النزعة النقدية التي تميز بها المعتزلة ليس فقط في نقدهم للمخالفين لهم في المذاهب والملل والأديان الأخرى ، ولكن أيضا للمخالفين من داخل المذهب.
وقد اتبعت في بحثي المنهج التحليلي النقدي .
ومن أهم ما خلص إليه البحث من نتائج أن المنهج النقدي وأعني به عدم قبول أي رأي دون بحث وفحص وتمحيص وبيان صحيحه من فاسده ، هو المنهج الذي استخدمه المتكلمين بوجه عام والمعتزلة بوجه خاص، فتميزت المعتزلة بهذا المنهج الذي جعلهم شوكة في حلق المخالفين، ولم تتوقف نزعتهم النقدية على نقد المخالفين ولكن امتدت إلى داخل مذهب نفسه، فنقد بعضهم بعضاً وكان أهم مَنْ تميز بهذه النزعة القاضي عبد الجبار.
فنقد أصحاب المعارف القائلين بأن معرفة الله تعالى تحدث فينا ضرورةً ، ورأي أنها تحصل فينا بالنظر والبحث والتمحيص .
ونقد كذلك أصحاب اللطف من المعتزلة القائلين بوجوب اللطف على الله تعالى ، حيث رأي أن الأمر ليس كذلك على مطلقه، فالله لا يجب عليه اللطف بوجه عام وإنما هناك مراحل معينة للمكلف هي فقط التي يكون اللطف فيها واجباً عليه.
 The research aims to show the impact of the critical tendency that distinguishes the Mu'tazila, not only in their criticism of those who oppose them in other sects, sects, and religions, but also of those who oppose them from within the sect.
In my research, I followed the critical analytical approach.
One of the most important conclusions of the research is that the critical approach, by which I mean the non-acceptance of any opinion without research, examination, scrutiny, and a statement that is correct and corrupt, is the approach used by theologians in general and the Mu'tazilites in particular. Their critical tendency depended on the criticism of the violators, but it extended to the inside of the school, so they criticized each other, and the most important person who distinguished himself in this matter was Judge Abd al-Jabbar, who criticized the sayings of the Mu'tazila.
He criticized the knowledgeable people who say that knowledge of God Almighty occurs in us as a necessity, and he saw that it occurs in us by looking, researching and scrutiny.
He also criticized the Mu'tazila's Companions of Kindness who say that kindness is obligatory for God Almighty, as he saw that the matter is not the case in the absolute.
