يهدف البحث إلى بيان أهمية الدراسات البينية المتعلقة بعلوم السنة النبوية وغيرها من التخصصات الأخرى، وإبراز هذه العلاقة، وبيان الحاجة إليها، ذلك أن الدراسات البينية تهدف إلى تحقيق التكامل بين العلوم والتخصصات المختلفة، مما يتيح فهما أعمق وأشمل وأدق للسنة النبوية في سياقات متعددة، وينتج عن ذلك توسيعٌ لمدارك المتعلم وفتحٌ لآفاق بحثية متنوعة، وتعزيز للثقة بالمعلومة، ومواكبة للمستجدات.
تناول البحث الدراسات البينية فعرّفها وذكر أقسامها وسماتها وأهميَّتها وعلاقتها بالسنة النبوية، ثم تكلم البحث عن علاقة السنة النبوية بغيرها من العلوم، والحاجة لذلك فتكلم عن علاقة السنة النبوية بالعلوم الشرعية، وذكر التكامل المعرفي والمنهجي بين علوم السنة وعلمي التفسير والفقه، ثم تكلم البحث عن علاقة السنة النبوية بغيرها من العلوم الإنسانية، وذكر التكامل المعرفي والمنهجي بين علوم السنة النبوية وعلمي اللغة والتاريخ.
