يهدف البحث إلى الانطلاق من كون الرسول- r-، جمع مكارم الاخلاق، حيث توّجه ربه- جلّ وعلا- بتاج الكمال كله، فكان خلقه- r– القرآن، تأدب بآدابه وامتثل أوامره، فجمع- r– كل فضيلة، وحاز كل خصلة جميلة، فمن ذلك شرف النسب، وكمال العقل، وشدّة الحياء، والسخاء، والصدق، والشجاعة، والصبر، والزهد، والتواضع، والعدل، والعفو، وكظم الغيظ، والصفح، والمعاملة بالتي هي أحسن، والرأفة، والرحمة، وكل ما هو من مكارم الأخلاق، فقد بعث- r– ليتمم مكارم الأخلاق، ومن مكارم أخلاقه- r–، خلق الرحمة ولذا كان البحث عن: رحمة سيدنا محمد- r– في ضوء القرآن الكريم دراسة موضوعية. حيث زين الله تعالي، سيدنا محمدا- r– بزينة الرحمة، فقد فطرت نفسه الزكية، بخلق الرحمة، وجميع شمائله رحمة، وصفاته رحمة، فقد خصه الله تعالي بوصف
الرحمة، ولم يصف به غيره من الأنبياء، إذ من خصائص رحمته- سبحانه- علي النبي- r– أن قوّاه حتى صحب قومه، وصبر على تبليغ الرسالة إليهم، فلان لهم الرسول بإذن الله وتكوينه إياه راحما، إذ كان لينه- r– لينا لا تفريط معه لشيء من مصالحهم، ولا مجاراة لهم في التساهل في أمر الدين، فلذلك كان حقيقا باسم الرحمة، فرحمته- r- لا تقف عند الجانب الشخصي من قول وسلوك فقط، بل قرنها الجانب الدعوي المتمثل في حرصه- r- لإنجاء قومه من النار والفوز بالجنة، فرحمته– r– عامة للإنس، والجن، والحيوان، والطير وحتي الجماد إذ حن له جذع النخل، فأسرع إليه النبي فاحتضنه- r– حتي سكن.
فقد أحاطت الرحمة بتصاريف شريعته المحمدية، لأنها أوسع الشرائع رحمة بالناس، والكتاب المنزل عليه- r– هدي ورحمة لمن آمن به و اتبعه وتمسك به، فرحمته- r– في ضوء القرآن الكريم جديرة بالعناية والدراسة للاقتداء بهديه- r– والسير علي نهجه.
 
The research aims to proceed from the fact that the Messenger, peace be upon him (pbuh), embodied the noblest of morals. His Lord, the Almighty, crowned him with the wreath of all perfection. Thus, his character, peace be upon him, was the Qur'an; he was disciplined by its etiquette and complied with its commands. He, peace be upon him, combined every virtue and possessed every beautiful trait. Among these are nobility of lineage, perfection of intellect, intense modesty, generosity, truthfulness, courage, patience, asceticism, humility, justice, forgiveness, restraint of anger, pardon, treating others in the best manner, compassion, and mercy, and all that constitutes noble morals. He, peace be upon him, was sent to perfect noble morals.
Among his noble morals, peace be upon him, is the quality of mercy. Therefore, the research focuses on: "The Mercy of our Master Muhammad (pbuh) in the Light of the Holy Qur'an: An Objective Study." God Almighty adorned our Master Muhammad (pbuh) with the ornament of mercy. His pure soul was innately disposed to the quality of mercy, and all his characteristics and attributes are mercy. God Almighty singled him out with the description of mercy and did not describe any other prophet with it. Among the characteristics of His mercy—glory be to Him—upon the Prophet (pbuh) is that He strengthened him to accompany his people and to be patient in delivering the message to them. The Messenger was gentle with them by God's permission and His making him merciful. His gentleness, peace be upon him, was a gentleness without any negligence of their interests, nor any indulgence in religious laxity. Therefore, he was truly worthy of the name of mercy.
His mercy, peace be upon him, is not limited to the personal aspect of speech and behavior alone, but is coupled with the aspect of Da'wah (the call to Islam), represented in his keenness, peace be upon him, to save his people from the Hellfire and for them to attain Paradise. His mercy, peace be upon him, is universal, extending to humans, jinn, animals, birds, and even inanimate objects, as the palm trunk yearned for him, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, hastened to it and embraced it until it calmed down.
Mercy has encompassed the applications of his Muhammadan law (Sharia), for it is the most merciful of laws to people. The book revealed to him, peace be upon him, is a guidance and a mercy for those who believe in it, follow it, and adhere to it. Therefore, his mercy, peace be upon him, in the light of the Holy Qur'an is worthy of attention and study in order to emulate his guidance, peace be upon him, and follow his path.
